Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Story
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D ROM is not one of those games that sacrifices an elaborate plot for fast-paced gameplay. The story is eons old, an ancient tale where 2 great god-like beings, Bionis and Mechonis, waged eternal war. Both beings perished in the aftermath, and a new world flourished on the corpse of Bionis. This is where our heroes, Shulk and his friends, reside. Mechonis, on the other hand, is home to the violent machine creatures named Mechon, which attack the citizens of Bionis. Once Shulk’s home is under attack, our hero leaves on a journey of vengeance.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for Citra revolves around revenge, and a mysterious sword called Monado. Legend has it that this magic sword was the weapon used by Bionis in the war against Mechonis. Our hero Shulk just so happens to be the sword-bearer of this powerful weapon.
When it comes to Shulk and his friends, all of them are well-defined with transparent motivations. For instance, Shulk wants to bring his wrath upon Mechonis. His pal Reyn feels the same way, but he can’t let his friend go off alone. Sharla, another companion on their journey, happily assists their journey of vengeance after the two save her loved ones from Mechon. Although the characters seem simple, their goals and the narrative are so well-intertwined that they’ll constantly keep you on your toes.
Game Features of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3D world is huge, and you can explore it with fast-travel after unlocking landmarks.
While the basics stayed the same, certain changes were made to accommodate the port for Nintendo 3DS. Additionally, the gameplay remained similar due to the fact that the button layout of the New Nintendo 3DS bears similarity to that of the Classic Controller.
Changes and Additions
In order for the game to run smoothly on a hand-held console, the team had to develop a completely new graphics engine to not compromise any UX in Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for the 3DS.
However, the developers modified the heads-up display and user interface to put 3DS’s dual screens to good use. So, they moved the map and character stats to the bottom of the screen in order to make some room on the top screen because of the size of the Nintendo 3DS.
While the Wii version included both Japanese and English voices, the international one only featured English voice options. In fact, the anglicized Shulk’s meme-worthy battle cry will really have you feeling it.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for Nintendo 3DS also features a new Collection Mode. Here, players can see in-game models and listen to music, and the players can obtain them by spending tokens. You earn tokens via StreetPass, by exchanging Play Coins for them. Another way to earn tokens is by scanning the Shulk amiibo once a day.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D stands out amongst the sea of RPG games because of the twists added to its structure. For instance, there are no random battles, and the system is more action-based. So you get to see your enemies on the field, and choose whether or not you wish to engage.
How to Play
You can play Xenoblade Chronicles 3D ROM on a PC or a Nintendo 3DS. Both games will run just fine. The great thing about this game is that you get to enjoy all the exciting parts the RPG genre has to offer, but without the boring bits, including repetitively smashing the attack button.
Once you engage in battle, the characters will automatically perform basic attacks. Consequently, this allows you to focus on other things, such as healing spells and tactics.
By eliminating the boring combat out of your control, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D takes things up a notch when you’re facing off against bosses and powerful enemies.
Most enemies will require the use of specific tactics in order to defeat them. So, you’ll be forced to get creative and use those special abilities in various ways.
In the game, each character will learn abilities through a unique skill tree. There are only three paths. Even so, as you build affinities with others through battle or conversations, you can borrow select skills.
In hopes you’ll enjoy yourself and have the best possible experience playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, we’d like to offer you some useful tips.
Tips and Tricks
Don’t feel obligated to do every single sidequest. If you do, it will lead to a serious case of burnout before you get close to the end. Whenever you feel like doing a sidequest, go ahead. Otherwise, don’t worry about it too much – you’ll have plenty of them under your belt soon enough.
As Shulk, sometimes you’ll be able to see the future or predict an attack using the power of Monado. In this case, you might burn the bar to prevent that from happening. Even though this is a very creative way to use Monado in battles, you actually have zero control of when you’ll get these glimpses into the future. Most times it’s boring and interrupts the flow of the battle. Also, it can lead to lots of frustration as it’s pretty much useless without a filled gauge. You can put your charges to better use by doing party attacks, or even resurrecting allies.
Last but not least, don’t be afraid to flee from battle. In Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, you’ll find yourself facing enemies which might be too much for you to handle at the given moment. Although you might gain EXP, SP, AP, and more treasure, you’ll be putting yourself and others at risk. So, if you find yourself in this situation, don’t hesitate. Leave as soon as possible.
The Journey of Vengeance
All in all, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a very immersive RPG game worthy of its Wii counterpart. The game’s lore is an extremely elaborate and well-structured tale of vengeance. It’s thoroughly enjoyable and immersive for those who enjoy a good story and strong, set characters.
You and your band of misfits will find yourselves facing lots of different foes on your path to vengeance. So, good luck and make sure you remember to take it easy. Don’t burn yourself out too soon, for much more trouble awaits. You’ll find the Xenoblade Chronicles 3D download link right below.
